British actor Henry Cavill has been chosen to be the new Superman for the upcoming Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder Superman movie.
In a press release Snyder said, "In the Pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be part of his return to the big screen. I also join Warner Brothers, Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield."
Interestingly, a majority of superheroes are being played by British actors. Batman, Spider-man and now Superman.
No word on Lois Lane casting yet. Superman is expected for a 2012 release.
So, what do you think gang? Think Cavill has what it takes to fight for truth, justice, and the American way?

ReplyDeleteFrom what I've seen so far, I think he looks pretty good.
DeleteWill the Film have a Great Villain.. or just another version of Lex Luthor... Kevin Spacey .. and even Gene Hackman's "over the Top" performance were both enjoyable....
ReplyDeleteThe villain is going to be General Zod played by Michael Shannon. Man of Steel is set be released June 14, 2013. If you see The Dark knight Rises you'll get to see the first look at the new Superman.
