Finally! Matty Collector Releases Kyle Rayner
Back in July, I was eagerly awaiting for the release of the Matty Collector exclusive Retro-Action DC Super Heroes, Kyle Rayner, only to be disappointed. Come the release date of July 15th, Matty Collector pulled the sale of the action figure. Why? He was missing, of all things, his power ring.
Fast forward two months later and finally the last of the Green Lantern exclusives is available once again. I placed my order yesterday for what will probably be the last Retro-Action DC Super Heroes exclusive from Matty Collector. Not only the last exclusive, but the last action figure to be released in the series.
Hurry up get yours now as the exclusives in this series have all sold out previously. With sales like that, it's a mystery to me why Mattel cancelled this blast from the past line.

Awesome am glad that you will finally get a hold of this John.
ReplyDeleteI haven't really been into the whole Mego-Returns! thing, but Kyle looks great! Shame about the line being cancelled - if they offered a few more like these (and maybe less Black Adams), the line may have thrived a bit longer.
ReplyDeletehe really looks cool- yeah, i was somewhat sorry they cancelled this. if Mattel was disappointed with sales impact of these, they might have tried getting better distribution. to this day, i've seen NONE of the last wave in TRU. this may not have been their fault, but... it seems these big box retailers have no clue about what us adult spenders would buy up if they provided.
ReplyDeleteJBoy- Thanks. I still need the original Green Lantern from wave 1 too.
ReplyDeleteI hear you there Super-D its like they wanted this to fail...Which sadly the line did. I wanted a Batman and maybe a Flash figure and never saw either of them.
ReplyDeleteOnigaijan- I think is was distribution and limited retail outlets that killed the line. I think it was cool that Mattel gave each of the Heroes a villain counterpart. Mego was very Batman and Spiderman heavy with villains.
ReplyDeleteColin- I agree at least try another medium before cancelling the series. The exclusives are great sellers, I hope at least they continue with an exclusive every now and then. I have not seen any of wave 4 at Toy R US either. I still need the entire wave 4 and Green Lantern from wave 1.
ReplyDeleteJBoy- I knew you wanted Batman, but I could have picked up a Flash for you at one time. I wish I knew that sooner. :-(
ReplyDeleteAh no worries John Batman was the one i wanted the most and the Flash was more of a after thought. : )
