Toys for The Dark Knight Rises have begun hitting stores. Recently, Jboypacman, author of Revenge From The Cosmic Ark, shared with us his new Caped Crusader Batman action figure from the new line of toys and I have been mildly excited about the new action figures and vehicles. However, when I saw the Battle For Gotham City including an Anne Hathaway Catwoman action figure, I just had to have it.
Eric, (AKA BubbaShelby) from Toyriffic, expressed his interest in this action figure set as well and has theorized that this may be the only way to obtain a Catwoman in this scale. Eric is generally right on when it comes to toys...give or take. However, I really feel that Mattel would be missing a huge opportunity only offering the feline fatale only at Target.
The set comes with five action figures as follows:
Bane battles Batman for the sole of Gotham City. Powerful, Menacing, and filled with rage. Bane is prepared to do whatever it takes to destroy The Dark Knight. Caped Crusader Batman, which is a slightly different version of Jboypacman's, is the final solution for the citizens of Gotham City - The only thing standing between Bane and the city's destruction.
Bruce Wayne - As Batman, billionaire Bruce Wayne helps to protect the ravaged Gotham City from becoming a wasteland at the hands of Bane and his villainous henchman.
Stealth Vision Batman - Batman hunts his nemesis through jet-black alleyways and dark underground tunnels to overcome the blinding darkness. He relies on his Wayne Tech Stealth Vision equipment.
Catwoman - As Bane and Batman battle for the soul of Gotham City, clandestine thief Catwoman prowls the rooftops and alleys in search of adventure, ultimately facing off against The Dark Knight.
One of the best parts of this action figure set is it has a free movie ticket toward The Dark Knight Rises with a $20 Mattel Batman toy purchase. So, if your going to stock up up on the new The Dark Knight Rises toys you'll get to see the movie for free too. Is it July yet?
About the author: John Sholtz is an avid toy collector and the interim editor of the Batcave Toy Room due to the abrupt death of Bruce Wayne. Learn more about him here and connect with him on Twitter at, Facebook, Google+ and Linkedin.
I hope they will get around to selling a Catwoman in this scale because i don't want to buy this whole set just for her.
ReplyDeleteMe too! I'd buy her again individually.
DeleteI gotta find that set! Or be wrong about Catwoman's exclusive release. Either way, I need Catwoman!
ReplyDeleteAnd are you going to buy your advance ticket on Monday the 11th? that's when they go on sale. I know I will be getting my midnight ticket ASAP!
Dude, are the Target's in your area sold out? Let me know and I'll see if I can find you one out here.
DeleteWe bought advance tickets for The Avengers. So, most likely yes. I've been debating on whether or not going to the midnight showing. My comic book store owner friend will be probably be arranging something special with the theatre for the midnight showing. Last year he arranged free tickets for everyone for Captain America. We'll see what happens this year.
I didn't see any of these when I checked a little over a week ago, and I even have my sister checking her local Target out of town. So I don't know what the holdup is in my neck of the woods! So if you do find an extra I'll pay you back!
DeleteI'm on it. There were only three available at the Target I bought mine at, which left two after that. They must have released them to each store in limited quanities, but I'll run over there today and see what I can dig up.
