Hot Wheels with a Side of Corgi
Besides my Mego World's Greatest Super Heroes and Kenner Star Wars toys, Corgi die cast metal Super Hero vehicles are some of my favorite toys. For a short time, I did collect Hot Wheels die cast cars, but that was short lived. Corgi always had the cooler cars. Mainly because they produced comic book hero based vehicles and like Mego, they held licenses for both Marvel and DC Super Heroes. However, as of late, Hot Wheels cars have caught my eye.
The release of Hot Wheels Batman TV series inspired vehicles had sparked my geek senses enough to buy Hot Wheels again. No longer the run of the mill cars, Hot Wheels has been producing vehicles reminiscent of Corgi's heyday.
Here's a look at some of what Hot Wheels has been producing lately. With cars for Superman, Wonder Woman, Plastic Man, and The Riddler and more, these cars are looking really sweet.
Even though these vehicles have me as excited as Corgi cars did when I was a kid, I haven't pulled the trigger on picking any of these up other than the previously mentioned Bat based vehicles. I am not sure what is holding me back. Maybe it's because I've been really concentrating on the vintage side of my collection, but whatever it is, I need to make a decision soon. These won't be around for long. Has anyone else picked any of these up and what do you think of these Corgi looking Hot Wheels?
